Titanium Aluminum Carbide Micron Powder
Titanium Aluminum Carbide (Ti2AlC) system has attracted attention due to its interesting properties. The structure of Ti2AlC is found to be hexagonal with lattice constants of a = 0.304 nm and c = 1.360 nm. Ti2AlC offers easy machinability, low density, good electrical and thermal conductivity, and excellent thermal shock and high-temperature oxidation resistance. Ti2AlC has a low density of 4.1 g/cm3 and a high electrical conductivity of 3×106 Ω−1 m−1. The mechanical properties of Ti2AlC are important for industrial applications. The bulk modulus of Ti2AlC (186 GPa), it has a brittle to the ductile transition temperature of approximately 1050 °C, and shear modulus of Ti2AlC at 1000 °C is 88% of its shear modulus at room temperature. These properties make Ti2AlC micron powder appropriate for different high-temperature applications. Ti2AlC is extensively used in ceramics, coatings, and porous electrically conductive electrode material.
