Europium Micron Powder

Europium Micro Powder is widely used. Europiumis a silver-gray, high-density metal almost as hard as iron. It is the most reactive of all lanthanides. It quickly oxidizes when exposed to air. It reacts with water in a similar way to calcium. Its physical properties are very similar to those of other lanthanides, but its chemical properties are more similar to those of calcium. It is a good neutron absorber. Europium is one of the rarest lanthanides and is very difficult to prepare. The metal is found in other minerals such as monazite (cerium phosphate, lanthanum, praseodymium, neodymium, and thorium oxide) and bastnasite (fluorocarbon of lanthanide metals). Europium, like other lanthanides, is used as a component in the manufacture of projection equipment for the film industry. As a neutron absorber, europium alloys are used in the construction of nuclear reactor parts and in the manufacture of laser equipment. The oxide is used to produce the red color in the tubes of television images.
