Bismuth Micron Powder

Bismuth Micron Powder is widely used for a variety of purposes. Bismuth is a very heavy, soft and perfectly exfoliable mineral, but also fragile with typical staggered and sectile fractures (can be cut even with the blade of a knife). Its shine is metallic and it is opaque to light. It melts easily at about 271 °C. Bismuth is also a diamagnetic mineral, which means it is weakly repelled by a magnet. Although it is a rare mineral, bismuth micron powder is widely used in various sectors of the industry for its peculiar characteristics, for example, since it increases in volume when it solidifies, bismuth is an excellent material for the manufacture of molds. It is also an essential ingredient for low melting point alloys, used as heat detectors in fire alarm systems and as a catalyst (that is, as an element capable of accelerating a reaction in the production of synthetic resins). Thanks to its high electrical resistance (that is, its ability to not conduct electricity), it is also used for the production of measuring instruments. In the molten state, bismuth is used as a heat exchanger in nuclear reactors and for the production of colored glass. Finally, bismuth finds application in medicine and pharmacology; in fact, it is used in radiology (it is opaque to x-rays) and for the production of cosmetics and antiseptic drugs.
