NGS-Solution Type Shape Memory Polymer

NGS-Solution Type Shape Memory Polymer

The shape memory effect (EMF) is the possibility for a material to be deformed stably in a certain temperature range and to return to its initial shape by heating. A shape memory polymer (PMF) has a rubber domain whose elastic modulus is governed by a phenomenon of physical or chemical crosslinking. One of the characteristics of PMF is that they can return to the initial shape with practically no residual deformation. Different approaches have been examined to manage the temperature range between the glassy and rubbery domains and the value of the rubbery modulus. The entanglement of the chains, when the molar mass is very high, can be used. The physical or chemical cross-links make it possible to adapt the transition temperature and the value of the module to the plate. The tensile strength of NGS-solution type shape memory polymer is 45 MPa. It has many industrial applications.
