Antimony Tin Oxide (ATO) Nanoparticles
Antimony nanoparticles have excellent electrical and optical properties with good conductivity. They are optically transparent and insulate infrared light with rutile structure. Antimony tin oxide nanoparticles (ATO) conduct electricity in display electrodes and heat insulating films. They are synthesized according to different known methods such as combustion using citric acid and fuel and nitrate as the oxidant, sol-gel, co-precipitation, hydrothermal method and DC arc plasma jet method. Antimony nanoparticles are used to prepare paint for glass with an application in energy-efficient glass coatings. ATO nanoparticles are employed in LEDs, LCDs and ECDs. They can shield heat when applied in hot mirrors and in building glasses. With regard to their transparent and heat resistant nature, ATO nanoparticles can be used in vehicles windows to protect them against fog and frost. Considering ATO nanoparticles behavior in reducing the microwave radiation, they are used in radar shielding, computer rooms and where electromagnetic wave protection is essential.
